Zierick Introduces SMT Fine Wire Connector for Multiple Wire Terminations

Zierick Manufacturing Corporation, a leading provider of PCB connectors and assembly equipment, has introduced the SMT Fine Wire Connector, its newest Insulation Piercing Connector (IPC) designed for solid, stranded and tinsel wire terminations. This connector eliminates the need to solder wires to the PCB by allowing four wires to be terminated simultaneously within a sturdy plastic housing, saving assembly costs and providing a more durable wire connection.

Zierick’s fine wire connector design builds on IPC technology, which allows multiple wires to be terminated without being stripped first. The fine wire IPC connector features four wire housing holes and four individual piercing blades that can accommodate solid, stranded or tinsel wire. The piercing blades are made to go in one direction only, in order to maintain a continuous force on each wire for better conductor contact.

In addition, the connector’s design uses minimal PCB real estate to allow for more components on the board, while its plastic housing provides excellent wire protection.
