February 25, 2021
You have probably noticed that the cost of everything seems to be rising. Items such as
chemicals, packaging materials and cleaning materials have all increased in price but for
Zierick, the price of brass (dependent on the COMEX) has gone up the most dramatically.
The rebound from pandemic shutdowns of 2020 has put a strain on the supply chain for
nearly everything. Raw material lead times have increased and it can currently take up to
20 weeks to procure the material we need to make your parts.
As a result of these market conditions, Zierick may alert you to delays in the manufacture
and shipment of your order(s). We will be re-pricing items regularly, especially the parts
that are made to order. You may see significant price increases, unless we can lock in your
demand for parts and our purchases of the raw materials needed.
We manufacture and sell over 400 different parts, so it would be difficult to keep sufficient
quantities of all on hand. We stock certain raw materials, and maintain stock of many
standard catalog items, but unexpected spikes in demand or canceled orders leave us in
a difficult position.
Please realize that we are doing our best to reduce costs and lead times. We appreciate
your understanding of market conditions.
Sincerely,
Gretchen Zierick
